I love the videos and how CBT is explained by Dr. Beck. I also appreciate how CBT is used (modeled) to help with the online material and the automatic thoughts we may be having when looking at all the information that is given. I also enjoy listening to the clinical roundtable discussions and the collaborative experience that is represented there each time.
The overall experience has been very comprehensive with the teaching of the model, the round table discussions with CBT therapists, modeling of CBT sessions, answering specific questions on the forum so students can learn from each other but also receive feedback from the faculty, conceptualizing my own cognitions and responding accordingly, and having time to practice some of the techniques and strategies in sessions with my clients. This format is very effective for my learning. Being able to access this type of professional development online has been invaluable to me.
I found the online portion of the videos and presentations to be excellent. Judith Beck's videos specifically were extremely helpful. Everything was clear and well explained in the examples. The clinical videos were great because I could see what I needed do to improve my practice and increase my effectiveness.
This course has been so helpful to me in learning more about CBT and how to apply it to my own clients. Judy's videos are engaging, she is an excellent speaker and very knowledgeable, and the roundtable discussions provide additional points of view and techniques to try with clients. The videos are short and meaty, so I feel like my time is used efficiently and like I am making quick progress (this is the same reason I like books with short chapters: I feel like I'm really getting something done). I am extremely impressed with this course; it is even better than I thought it would be. I have already begun recommending it to colleagues. I plan to take the other courses in the future.
Thank you for this course. The quality of the presentation and videos, the depth and quantity of information, and the resources in the library have all exceeded my expectations already.
I truly appreciated getting this quality in depth training, especially the basics, as I venture towards completing my goal of becoming certified as a therapist in CBT with The Academy of CBT. I thought the content was very easy to follow and understand in practicality. I appreciated the resources in the library to use towards creating case conceptualizations and in creating action plans.
These courses brings CBT to life in a way that is both interesting and practical for me as a supervisor of doctoral students at our university training clinic. I have been practicing as a psychologist for over 25 years and teaching doctoral students for 7 years, yet I learned new things about CBT that will help me both in my practice and in the classroom
I really like this type of learning. Being able to stop the video and make notes is great and ensures that I am not missing anything. Receiving clinical tips and hearing how the therapists (round table) deal with certain client groups is very helpful. This course actually teaches how to go about integrating theory into practice. I feel much more confident in my sessions with clients since taking this course.
I love the experiential exercises and how you address the common fears and automatic thoughts students may have. It actually really helped me to deepen my understanding of CBT. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of education, the interaction and feedback of instructors, the ease of access, and flexibility of the courses...I will definitely be continuing my CBT education with Beck Institute!
I love learning, and who better to learn CBT from than the Beck Institute itself! I appreciate how the learning is broken down into bits between the videos and forum opportunities. There is an abundance of rich material and I look forward to taking more courses
The roundtable is very helpful for learning new techniques and affirming that other therapists have similar struggles with treatment. The videos are entertaining. The library has beneficial information to apply CBT with my clients.
I found this course an all-engrossing learning experience. Not only the time spent felt pleasant, but the material learned, I feel and think, are taking me to a different level as a psychotherapist. I especially enjoyed the forum which provided a sense of connectedness and the feedbacks by the faculty to the posts were invaluable. I am looking forward to the other online courses by the Beck Institute.
