What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based approach designed to help people process and recover from traumatic experiences and distressing memories. Developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro, EMDR uses structured protocols and bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, tapping, or sounds, to help the brain reprocess experiences that may feel “stuck.”
EMDR is widely used to treat trauma and PTSD, and is also applied in the treatment of anxiety, depression, attachment injuries, grief, and other emotional difficulties.
