So now I'm going to move to a new skill called the TIP skill. This is not a skill that I made up myself. I may have made up a lot of skills, but this is not one of them. This is the skill that I got by reading research. It essentially is it's a skill that's aimed at tipping your biology. I've had a lot of clients who use the TIP skill when they feel like cutting themselves.
Cutting does make many people feel better for a short term. And the good news, the super duper good news, is the TIP skill has the exact same effect. It has the effect of calming behavior and calming emotions and calming your biology down. So what I'm gonna do next is give you a video of me teaching the skills, which I think is gonna be really helpful for you. The point I really wanna make though is that as you watch that, you're going to see me tell a really good story, okay, that explains how this works.
You don't want to also use stories yourself, and I want to encourage you to use any story from your own life as opposed to just the stories that I've made up or the stories that are my own experiences. So it's going to be important, not only here, but all the way through all these classes, that you come up with situations where your own life can be a way to teach how these skills work.
