Russ Harris has succeeded in the challenge of translating difficult psychological concepts embedded in ACT into plain, colorful, diverse language that anyone working clinically will understand. Each section is simply organized, easy to follow, and user-friendly.
“ACT Made Simple” is just that. Dr. Harris has, once again, written a very accessible book that should be read by all clinicians wanting to learn, engage or otherwise implement ACT in their practice. This book is a must for ACT readers. My thanks to Dr. Harris for making ACT so user-friendly and understandable.
Russ is the primary trainer in all of our courses, but he is supported in the interactive online forums by a team of ACT experts, including:
Russ Harris is brilliant in his ability to sniff out needless complexity and present complex clinical ideas in an accessible way. He has brought his clinical creativity to new methods and new ways of getting to the heart of these issues with clients. That is a great combination and a significant contribution.
Russ Harris is the consummate ACT clinician and a dynamite trainer. He makes ACT concepts easy to understand and implement in real time clinical practice. He has a real passion for ACT work and his training methods are absolutely first rate. I would highly recommend his training system to anyone who really wants to learn the ins and outs of ACT!
A very well organized course that took me step by step through the concepts and applications of ACT. Theory was smoothly blended with practice, texts were clear and concise, all the material I could require was included. Videos were highly illuminative as well as entertaining. It was also great to observe the best while working with adolescents and learn from them. I'm very content to have enrolled in this course and looking forward to enroll in other courses by Russ Harris. I've already recommended this course to colleagues in my country.
I found the learning experience to be excellent. The length of time of the videos were the right amount. I was very impressed by the amount of worksheets, articles etc. to download, in that I have nearly filled two lever arch files. Overall I will certainly recommend this course and will be saving up for Russ's other courses.
ACT is one of the rarest and best model of therapy I have ever come across. It gave me the flexibility and openness, both as a therapist and as an 'individual'. The content of the course was extremely useful and gave me a menu to be able to pick appropriately for the suffering of the client/patient and the flexibility to tailor make it to suit their needs as well as personality! It was wonderful working while learning!Thank you ACT and thank you Russ for making this learning experience as amazing as can be!
Wow, what a journey! I thought I was just participating as a professional learner to improve my practice/clinical skills. I soon found working through this course/process was also very healing on a personal level and found myself coming to terms with some of my own childhood experiences of trauma - which was not actually my intention! I also challenged myself along the way to apply mindfulness techniques when I was getting behind in the modules and magically it all worked out when access to the course was extended, thanks Russ an excellent course.
Just completely engaging and jam packed with really practical experiential learning. Every week, I take something I've discovered during the course and use it with my clients.
I loved this course! I loved the format of it, the humour and all the demonstrations by all the therapists. I have learned a lot from it and am feeling quite inspired by all of it. I am sold on your course style and will definitely come back for more! High quality teaching! Thank you!
I found this course to be extremely beneficial to my professional development in the context of enhancing my understand of ACT and, perhaps more importantly, my implementation of its principles. I have had longstanding familiarity with ACT with some gentle wading (exposure) into its tenets (6+ years) but I found this course to help connect a number of gaps for me and it has allowed me to practice ACT more in earnest on an ongoing basis during session with a variety of clinical issues. I thank you Russ and all of the other contributors for providing such a wonderful and enlightening experience.
A remarkably in-depth and powerful introduction to the ACT model. The course has truly deepened my understanding of the key concepts and brought a practical, experiential dimension to my learning. Russ Harris is an entertaining and clear presenter and I also found the forum really supportive and helpful. There is a wealth of study materials and notes that will serve me well as I continue to develop my knowledge of ACT and move forward in my psychotherapy training.
Greatly appreciated, thank you! I use ACT in my clinical practice as the philosophical platform to guide how I approach treatment and integrate other modalities. This is not the first training that I've experienced with Russ. As before, I learnt new things, developed new skills, and got inspired. I definitely recommend this training to those who have ACT experience and wish to improve their 'toolbox'. Again, Thank you Russ!
Absolutely the best ACT training I have ever attended, which is not surprising since it is given by Russ Harris. I think everyone practising one of the third wave of cognitive behavioural therapies in the world should attend this training at least once. Russ' presentation of different subjects are also very catchy. I am extremely satisfied with in-depth instruction.
What a well prepared and well presented course: I can't remember having had so much fun with an online course before! I have learned (and still am learning! ) so much: personally and professionally. The resources are plentiful, very applicable, simply 'excellent'. I am looking forward to continuing with the other ACT courses. A Big Thank you to you and your team! Great Work!
