Dr. Jill Rathus is a world-renowned authority on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT).  She co-developed Dialectical Behavior Therapy for adolescents and families alongside Dr. Alec Miller and Dr. Marsha Linehan, including the development of a new DBT skill module, Walking the Middle Path.  She is the co-author of several of the leading texts on this subject, including the widely used DBT Skills Manual for Adolescents.  She has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles and chapters, as well as serving as a reviewer to several psychology journals, on National Institute of Mental Health grant review committees, and as co-chair of the Treatment Integrity Committee of the World DBT Association.

Dr. Rathus spent more than two decades as a Professor of Psychology at Long Island University, where she directed the DBT Clinical Research Lab.  She is also a Visiting Professor at Shanghai Mental Health Center/Shanghai Jiao Tong School of Medicine, China.  She is a DBT-Linehan Board of Certification-certified clinician and has trained thousands of mental health professionals worldwide.  She is also the co-founder and co-director of Cognitive Behavior Associates, a private practice in New York.
