About the EFT- Attachment Science in Practice course

Attachment Theory has emerged as the most profound, research-based understanding of how we develop as human beings – our emotions, our ways of thinking and acting and our habitual ways of engaging with others. Specifically, attachment science has cracked the code of love and loving, showing us how our sense of self develops and is continuously shaped in the dance with others. Grounded with thirty years of process and outcome research, Dr Sue Johnson's Emotionally Focused Therapy, takes the attachment perspective out of the research lab into therapy sessions with individuals, couples, and families. Our course is a great intro to EFT as a multi-modal therapy based on Sue Johnson's book. It is not the same as the in-person trainings that ICEEFT does and is not the equivalent of any of the level 1 trainings. Will the EFT online courses count towards certification in EFT with ICEEFT?

This course is an introduction to EFT as an attachment intervention across three modalities. Please see the ICEEFT site – International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy – for information on formal requirements for ICEEFT certification in EFT. https://iceeft.com/

Can I get CPD in Australia for taking the EFT course?

In Australia, each EFT online course is likely to be worth at least 2 CPD hours per week. AHPRA is the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and governs multiple occupations including psychologists, doctors and nurses. These professions are required in Australia to complete a certain amount of CPD hours annually. How they claim the CPD hours varies by profession and is not a process that either Sue Johnson or Psychwire are involved in. The different governing bodies underneath the AHPRA umbrella have their own specific set of guidelines to be followed by their members. Who can do the EFT courses?

All EFT courses are designed for mental health professionals, those who are licensed, interning or studying in the field, both undergraduate and postgraduate. This can include, but is not limited to counselors, coaches, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, GPs, OTs, social and youth workers.

What are the requirements for CE/CME credits?

The EFT: Attachment Science in Practice course can earn 16 CE/CME credit hours providing the following requirements have been met: 1. An overall quiz score of at least 75%. Quiz questions from the entire course are included in this overall total. The pre-test quizzes are practice only and are not included in your overall total. You must answer the question correctly within three attempts. 2. The course must be completed in full. 3. If you miss a multiple choice question, you will immediately have two more opportunities to answer the question correctly. Unfortunately, no. We do not allow make-up exams. If you miss a multiple choice question on the first attempt, you will need to answer correctly on the second attempt in order to receive credit. How is my final score calculated? The number of correct/credited answers will be divided by the total number of quiz questions, and the result will be your final score. Example: A course has 70 questions. You answered 15 of them incorrectly, which leaves 55 that you can receive credit for. Divide 55 by 70 and the result is 76%. Therefore, your overall quiz score is 76%.

How do I access the online forum?

Click on the "Forum" button and you'll be taken to the forum where you can ask questions or make a comment. The idea is, you study the materials and interact via the forum. Trainers will reply to questions or add to discussions via posts to the forum.

How long are the discussions on the online forum available to refer to?

You can view all discussions that take place on the online forum for the duration of the course. The trainers will be active in the Forum while the course content is being released but will be unavailable once the 4 week grace period begins. You can still review any of the comments and questions in the grace period, you just can't post anything new.

When can I catch the trainers online?

There is no fixed time that the trainers will be “live” online but you will find them active at least four or five times a week, sometimes as often as two or three times in a day.

How do I use the library?

Click on the "Library" button to access course material you can download. The content you can access will grow as each new week is released to you.

How do I know who is a trainer?

Trainers can be identified easily as beside their name you will see "Trainer" displayed in grey. They are also displayed on the right hand side of the Forum, under "Meet the team" with a Profile photo. You can click on any trainer and see their Profile information including a detailed bio.

How do I create or edit My Profile?

Click on "My Dashboard" in the top right of your screen and select “My Profile” from the drop down menu. To edit your name or Profile photo, click on the “Edit” button in grey letters on your screen. Having problems playing the videos, accessing the modules or downloading content?

Please start by refreshing your browser as that often sorts things out. But if that doesn't work it may be that the course is not compatible with your browser so we recommend you try the latest versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer. Also, please make sure you do not have any firewalls or malware blockers that may be causing an issue. If you are using a computer at work, you may need to contact your IT department. Are there any internet browsers I can't use?

Unfortunately the courses are currently not compatible with Internet Explorer 7, 8 and 9. Please use an alternative browser - we highly recommend using the Chrome browser.

What equipment do I need?

At midnight PST on the date your course commences, you will receive a Welcome email with information on how to get started and what to expect in the coming weeks. If you are unable to locate your Welcome email, please check your spam/junk folder as it might have been redirected there. Why is my course dashboard blank?

If you have logged into your Psychwire account and there are no courses displayed within your Dashboard, please check the following: Has your course commenced? Psychwire's Signature Courses run on an intake basis, each course commences on a specific day at midnight PST. The course commencement date can be found on the course purchase page as well as your receipt of purchase. Are you using the same email address that you registered for the course with? Your course access is linked to your email address which was used to purchase the course. If you have logged into your Psychwire account using a different email address, please log out and log in again with the same email address used when registering.
