Dr Christopher Butler is a professor of primary care in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences at the University of Oxford. He has served as a general medical practitioner in the South Wales Valleys for over 20 years. Dr Butler’s research focuses on common infections and health behavior modification, including adapting Motivational Interviewing for use in health care. He has published over 500 articles and helped or led more than 30 randomized clinical trials. In 2019, he was named the Welsh GP of the year by the Royal College of General Practitioners Wales.
