How Our ACT Courses Work

Do I need to be online at specific times for your ACT courses?

You don't need to be online at a specific time! You can log in and out at a time that suits you and learn at your own pace.

Once your course begins, Russ Harris will be online throughout the week to answer questions, but please allow a couple of days for your questions to be answered. The forum will be open for 3 months, allowing time to delve into the content and ask Russ follow up questions after all content has been released.

What happens if I miss a week or fall behind?

All our courses are self-paced. If you miss a week, or fall behind, don't worry. You can catch up at a time that suits you!

Each course has 12 months access, and this bonus time can be used to catch up on any missed work. You can find out when your course access finishes by looking in "My Dashboard."

If you are experiencing extenuating circumstances, you may be eligible for a deferral. Please contact us via the chat icon on the bottom right-hand corner of the website or via email at support@psychwire.com.

How much time should I be spending on the ACT courses?

If you ONLY do the core content, and nothing else, expect to spend between 2-3 hours a week on our ACT courses. But if you want to learn in more depth - taking notes, replaying videos, going through some or all of the bonus modules and optional extra materials - you'll need to allow at least 2 or 3 extra hours for each week of content. You will have 12 months access to all content, so there's no need to rush through reviewing and looking at optional extra materials.

Who are the courses suitable for?

All our courses are designed for mental health professionals, those who are licensed, interning or studying in the field, both undergraduate and postgraduate. This can include but is not limited to counselors, coaches, therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, GPs, OTs, social and youth workers.

How does the forum work?

The forum is designed to provide you with expert support as you learn. You can ask questions about the course material and share experiences as you develop new skills. Both the trainers and your fellow course participants can reply, providing a rich community of learners.

The trainers will be online during the week to answer questions, but please allow a few days for replies. Just note that trainers are active in the forum during the course, but not during the extra access period at the end of your course. We will notify you via email when the forum is closing.

How are the courses structured?

Course content is released weekly. You can revisit any content from previous weeks at any time, but new content will unlock one week at a time.

Each week includes a mix of engaging learning experiences - video lessons, reading and bonus materials. You can explore everything in one sitting or take your time throughout the week.

At the end of each week’s content is a quiz, mostly multiple-choice and true/false questions. To obtain CE/CME credit, you must finish the course with 80% correct overall.

What will I have access to throughout a course?

You’ll have access to course content as it is released, including engaging videos, experiential exercises, and a resource-packed library with articles and downloadable PDFs. While all written content and some audio files can be downloaded in the library, lesson content is only accessible during your course access period.

You’ll also have exclusive access to the forum—an incredible opportunity to engage with Russ Harris and connect with fellow students. The forum will be open for 3 months from the course start date and we encourage you to ask questions and share feedback for a richer learning experience.

After 3 months, forum access will be read-only, but you’ll continue to have access to all course lessons and library materials for an additional 9 months (12 months in total).

During this period, you can revisit the content, complete any unfinished work, and explore bonus materials at your own pace.

How do the online courses differ from the workshops?

The online courses are equivalent to multi-day live workshops. Essentially, the content for both the online courses and the workshops are the same.  However with our online courses, there’s more opportunity to dive into the content, take advantage of the bonus material and ask questions for Russ Harris in our interactive forum, which is open for 3 months. There is also time to review content with 12 months access to all learning material.
