Dr Gustav Kuhn is a world-renowned expert on the science of magic and an acclaimed author. He is a Reader in Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, President of the Science of Magic Association (SOMA) and a member of the Experimental Psychology Society (EPS). Dr Kuhn is also an award-winning magician and a Member of the Magic Circle (MMC).
Dr Kuhn’s research and study interests extend to social cognition, consciousness, attention, illusory experiences, free will, magical thinking and other areas pertaining to the scientific study of magic. He is widely published in scientific journals and wrote the popular book Experiencing the Impossible: The Science of Magic.
Dr Kuhn is also committed to bringing the science of magic to a general audience, as evidenced by his research lab, The Magic Lab. He has been consulted by many media outlets, including the BBC, Wired, The Guardian, New Scientist, Scientific American and more. He regularly gives workshops and speaks at public events.
