Dr Esther Deblinger is a Professor of Psychiatry at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, New Jersey. She is also co-founder and co-director of the Child Abuse Research Education and Service (CARES) Institute, also at Rowan.

Dr Deblinger's clinical work and research focus on the impact and treatment of child abuse, its effect on mental health, and post-traumatic stress disorder among children and adolescents. She has more than 30 years of experience working in the field.

Dr Deblinger was crucial to the development of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), along with Dr Judith A. Cohen and Dr Anthony P. Mannarino. She is co-author of the books Treating Trauma and Traumatic Grief in Children and Adolescents, Second Edition, and _Child Sexual Abuse; A Primer for Treating Children, Adolescents and Nonoffending Caregivers. _

Dr Deblinger gives talks and lectures both in the United States and globally. Her awards include the Outstanding Research Career Achievement Award from the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) and the Rosenberry Award from the Children's Hospital Colorado.
