Dr Robert Meyers has been at the forefront of research and education regarding addiction for the best part of five decades.

Dr Meyers is best known for developing the Community Reinforcement Approach (CRA), Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training (CRAFT) and the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), to help people whose family members or loved ones are experiencing drug or alcohol-related problems.

He is currently Director of Robert J. Meyers, Ph.D. & Associates and a Research Associate Professor Emeritus in Psychology at the University of New Mexico's Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse and Addiction. He has been involved with several National Institutes of Health-funded trials for CRAFT as well as several other key programs.

He has conducted training across the United States and in 15 countries worldwide.

Dr Meyers is also the author of five books, including Get Your Loved One Sober: Alternatives to Nagging, Pleading and Threatening (2003). He has also published more than 100 articles or book chapters.

Dr Meyers has been featured in Oprah magazine and on the HBO series, Addiction, funded by the National Institutes and Robert Woods Johnson Foundation.
