Russell Ramsay is a globally recognized clinical psychologist, researcher, teacher, author, and expert in the assessment and treatment of adults with ADHD. Prior to his current role in fulltime private practice, he was a professor of clinical psychology in the Department of Psychiatry in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he co-founded and co-directed the Adult ADHD Treatment and Research Program. Dr. Ramsay is board-certified in Behavioral & Cognitive Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and is a diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT).
Dr. Ramsay is the author of more than sixty peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, as well as seven books on adult ADHD, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Adult ADHD, The Adult ADHD & Anxiety Workbook, and his new self-help guide, Once I Get Started: The Adult ADHD Program For Turning Your Intentions Into Actions (2026). His other self-help guidebook, The Adult ADHD Tool Kit, has been translated into four languages, and is recommended by the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). Dr. Ramsay serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Attention Disorders and is frequently sought out as an ad hoc reviewer for other journals. He is highly sought after as a lecturer, an academic journal reviewer, a professional advisor for major ADHD organizations, and by media outlets for his expertise on topics relating to ADHD in adults.
