Dr Dawn Elizabeth Clifford is a preeminent nutritionist and Professor at Northern Arizona University (NAU). She is the founder of UCAN, a campus-based health coaching program at NAU that serves students, faculty, and staff. Her research and expertise include the use of non-diet approaches to health and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

Dr Clifford is co-author of Motivational Interviewing in Nutrition and Fitness, a number one best-selling title on Amazon. In addition, she is the author of 5-Minute MI: Motivational Interviewing in Nutrition and Health When Time is Short. Her many awards include the Innovator Award from Northern Arizona University and the Outstanding Dietetics Educator Award from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Dr Clifford is part of the MI Network of Trainers, an international charitable organization of trainers in MI. She is frequently invited to speak about MI and non-diet approaches at national and international conferences, podcasts and webinars.
