Dr Sierra Carter is an assistant professor of psychology at Georgia State University and executive director of the Health Equity, Agency, Racism and Trauma (HEART) Lab. She is also a fellow of Yale University’s Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS and an adjunct faculty member at Emory University School of Medicine. An expert in health equity, Dr Carter’s research focuses on racial health disparities and explores the impact of racism and discrimination on both mental and physical health across the life course, particularly in African American populations.
