Dr Terrie E. Moffitt is an esteemed researcher, academic, author and clinical psychologist who is best known for her pioneering research into antisocial and criminal behavior. Dr Moffitt is the Nannerl O. Keohane University Professor of Psychology at Duke University and holds a position at King’s College, London.

Dr Moffitt’s outstanding expertise is multifaceted. Her career has focused on longitudinal methods, developmental theory, neuropsychology and genomics in behavioral science. Alongside developmental psychopathology she has studied depression, psychosis and addiction.

Dr Moffitt has helmed a number of important longitudinal studies, including the Dunedin Longitudinal Study in New Zealand and the Environmental Risk Longitudinal Twin Study in the UK.

Dr Moffitt has won many prestigious awards for her work, including the Stockholm Prize in Criminology and the Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize. She holds honorary doctorates from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, and Universitat Basel, Switzerland.

Dr Moffitt has published several books, including The Origins of You: How Childhood Shapes Later Life, which was written in collaboration with a fellow expert on developmental psychopathology, Dr Jay Belsky.
