Professor Jennifer Hudson is a Professor within the Department of Psychology at Macquarie University and Director of the Centre for Emotional Health. She is a visiting fellow at Magdalen College, University of Oxford.
Professor Hudson is committed to positively impacting families by understanding the factors contributing to children’s mental health and improving services available to children experiencing anxiety and other emotional disorders.
Recognized for distinguished contributions to scientific understanding and clinical treatment of anxiety disorders in young people, Professor Hudson has published extensively with over 130 peer-reviewed publications.
She has also co-authored the book for professionals, Treating anxious children: An evidence-based approach, which gives clear guidelines for effectively treating children and adolescents with anxiety. Her role as editor of Psychopathology and the Family supports clinicians with cutting edge research findings on the role of the family in the development and maintenance of psychopathology.
Professor Hudson’s work has improved the quality of life for children and adolescents suffering from anxiety and emotional disorders. Her expertise is widely regarded; she is a member of the Australian Research Council College of Experts, an Associate Editor for the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology.
She serves on the editorial board on several international journals such as The Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology, Clinical Child and Family Psychology Review, and Behaviour Research and Therapy.
