profile

Tamara Hubbard is a family therapy-trained licensed clinical professional counselor. She is an expert in managing food allergies and allergic conditions, primarily using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and related evidenced-based modalities.

As the parent of a child with a nut allergy, she identified a gap in psychosocial resources within the allergy community, and therefore, was driven to develop them. In order to provide individuals and families managing food allergy and other allergic diseases life-impacting content and easier access to social/emotional support, she created the The Food Allergy Counselor Directory and resource website in 2018. Additionally, she's also passionately focused on helping allergic disease counseling become an established therapy niche, and has founded the Food Allergy Behavioral Health Network group for allergy-informed therapy providers to connect and learn.

Beyond developing allergy-specific psychosocial content and providing allergy counseling, Tamara also offers therapy services focusing on women’s wellness, motherhood, life changes/transitions, and stress and anxiety management utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems and Solution-Focused therapy.
