Dr Anthony Mannarino is a world-leading expert in traumatic stress in children. He is Director of the Center for Traumatic Stress in Children and Adolescents, as well as Vice-Chair of the Department of Psychiatry at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is also a Professor of Psychiatry at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr Mannarino has worked with child trauma since the 1980s. His research has focused on the clinical course of traumatic stress symptoms in children, and the development and implementation of effective treatment approaches. He is one of the co-developers of Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

Dr Mannarino's work has received funding from a number of major bodies, such as the National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect and the National Institute of Mental Health. He is also the recipient of several prestigious awards, such as the Betty Elmer Outstanding Professional Award and the Legacy Award from the Greater Pittsburgh Psychological Association.

Dr Mannarino is the co-author or editor of books such as Treating Trauma and Traumatic Grief in Children and Adolescents and Trauma-Focused CBT for Children and Adolescents: Treatment Applications.
