Dr Marc Feldman is a psychiatrist of international renown. He is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Adjunct Professor of Psychology at the University of Alabama. His principal areas of expertise are factitious disorders, Munchausen syndrome, Munchausen by proxy (medical child abuse) and malingering.

As a leading researcher in his field, Dr Feldman has published five influential books, including Dying to Be Ill: True Stories of Medical Deception and Patient or Pretender: Inside the Strange World of Factitious Disorders. He is also the author of more than 100 articles in the medical literature. Dr Feldman and his work have been featured in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, The Philadelphia Inquirer and USA Today. He has also featured widely on television.

Dr Feldman is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has served as Medical Director and Vice-Chair in Psychiatry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (US).
