Dr Brent W. Roberts is a personality psychologist whose research focus is personality traits and how they change across adulthood, along with the life experiences that affect personality traits. He is a Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Social and Behavioral Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Dr Roberts is Past-President of the Association for Research in Personality. He has also served as Associate Editor for the Journal of Research in Personality and Psychological Science. Dr Roberts is widely published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and is an author of Pigee, the Personality Interest Group and Espresso blog at the University of Illinois.
Dr Roberts has won several awards for his work over the years, including the Carol and Ed Diener Mid-Career Award in Personality Psychology, the Theodore Millon Mid-Career Award in Personality Psychology and the Jack Block Award for Distinguished Research in Personality. He holds an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Basel.
