
Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviors
Foundational CBTIt's important to recognize that in real clinical practice, each of these is part of a comprehensive whole that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors all mutually influence each other. On the behavioral side of things, it's important to recognize how your behavior perpetuate your thoughts and emotions. On the emotional side, it's important to recognize how your emotions give rise to certain thoughts and behaviors. And on the cognitive side, It's important to recognize how your thoughts might drive how you feel and act.
So helping the client to understand each of these components of their emotional experience Helping them to recognize the links between those components is really critical in case conceptualization and ultimately intervention.
