Dr Harris Cooper is a psychologist and researcher with an international reputation for his research into education and education policy. He is a Hugo L. Blomquist Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Neuroscience at Duke University in North Carolina.

In particular, he has conducted a number of important studies into homework and its relationship with performance and achievement. His expertise also spans time and learning, research synthesis and research methodology.

A widely cited and consulted expert, Dr Cooper's work has been featured in numerous prominent media publications including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, Time and Newsweek. He has also appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Larry King Show and Good Morning America.

Dr Cooper has received a number of awards and honors during his illustrious career and authored books including The Battle Over Homework and, most recently, Reporting Quantitative Research in Psychology.
