Dr Kristin Neff is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Texas. She is one of the world’s leading pioneers and innovators in the study of self-compassion and an expert on teaching people how to be kinder to themselves. Dr Neff formulated the widely used Self-Compassion Scale.

Dr Neff's new book is Fierce Self-Compassion: How Women Can Harness Kindness to Speak Up, Claim Their Power and Thrive. She is also the author of Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself and two more books in collaboration with her colleague Dr Chris Germer: The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook and Teaching the Mindful Self-Compassion Program.

With Dr Germer, she developed the empirically-supported training program Mindful Self-Compassion, which is taught worldwide.
