Dr Peter Fisher is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology and Director of Postgraduate Research at the Institute of Life and Human Sciences University of Liverpool. He is a leader in clinical research into adult mental health, particularly Metacognitive Therapy (MCT). He specializes in MCT for people experiencing distress due to physical health conditions, including cancer, cardiac conditions, diabetes, and epilepsy.
Dr Fisher is a Master Clinician in MCT and holds a supervisory role at the Metacognitive Therapy Institute, an international mental health company dedicated to delivering registrable MCT training for mental health professionals.
He is co-author of Metacognitive Therapy: Distinctive Features (CBT Distinctive Features) and co-editor of Treating Depression: MCT, CBT, and Third Wave Therapies.
