Professor Adrian Owen is a British neuroscientist known the world over for his work in the field of cognitive neuroscience and imaging.

He is currently Professor at The Brain and Mind Institute, Western University, Canada. He is also the author of the acclaimed book Into the Gray Zone, and the founder of the online platform Cambridge Brain Sciences.

Professor Owen is perhaps best known for his discovery in 2006, as outlined in Into the Gray Zone, that many people thought to be in a vegetative state are in fact entirely aware, but simply unable to communicate in any way.

He has published hundreds of academic papers in prestigious journals including The Lancet, Science, Nature and The New England Journal of Medicine. As an internationally respected neuroscientist, he and his work frequently appears in mainstream media, including the BBC, The New York Times, The New Yorker, Channel 4, CNN, The Sunday Times and many more outlets.

Professor Owen has received an impressive number of honors and awards throughout his illustrious career, including an OBE in 2019.
