Dr Michael Smith is a professor of psychiatry, neurology and nursing at John Hopkins University’s School of Medicine and director of the Division of Behavioral Medicine. An expert in sleep disorders, Dr Smith’s research investigates the neurobehavioral causes of insomnia and disrupted sleep, along with treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia. As well as serving on editorial boards and government advisory panels, he founded the John Hopkins Behavioral Sleep Medicine Clinic.
