Dr Mitch Prinstein is a clinical child and adolescent psychologist whose work has garnered worldwide attention. He is John Van Seters Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience, Assistant Dean, Honors Carolina, and former Director of Clinical Psychology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr Prinstein is the author of the highly influential book, Popular: Finding Happiness and Success in a World That Cares Too Much About the Wrong Kinds of Relationships, which has been translated into seven languages and sold in more than 150 countries.

An avid researcher and widely published author in peer-reviewed journals, Dr Prinstein heads the Peer Relations Lab, which has carried out research into popularity and peer relations for twenty years. He and his research have been featured in media outlets such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times and Newsweek.

He has served as President of the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology and the Society of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. He has also been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
