Dr Xavier Amador is a world-renowned author, speaker and clinical psychologist. He is a visiting psychology professor at the State University of New York and the co-founder and CEO of the Henry Amador Center on Anosognosia. Dr Amador is a carer of two close family members with mental illness including his brother, Henry, who has schizophrenia and for whom the center is named. He has authored over 120 peer-reviewed articles and is widely recognized for creating the LEAP method (Listen, Empathize, Agree, Partner) to help patients accept treatment.
