Reverend Professor Joseph Ferrari developed a global reputation for his research into chronic procrastination, focusing on its causes and consequences. He is also an expert on imposter phenomena, self-handicapping and attribution, community relationships, recovery from addiction, and recently clutter. He is a Professor of Psychology and St. Vincent de Paul Professor at DePaul University in Chicago. Professor Ferrari is also ordained as a Permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church.

Professor Ferrari is the author of the highly popular and influential book, Still Procrastinating? The No Regrets Guide to Getting It Done. He has written more than 350 scholarly publications and no fewer than 700 conference presentations. Since 1995 he has been the Journal of Prevention & Intervention editor in the Community, through Taylor & Francis Publishers.

Across an illustrious career, Professor Ferrari’s awards include the American Psychological Associations (APA) Distinguished Italian-American Psychologist award in 2016, and DePaul University's award for Public Service Excellence in Scholarly Activities. He was also nominated six times for their Excellence in Teaching awards.
