Robert Plomin is an internationally respected psychologist, acclaimed author, and ground-breaking researcher into behavioral genetics. He is MRC Research Professor at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King's College, London.

His recent book Blueprint: How DNA Makes Us Who We Are (2018) has had a significant impact on thinking around genetics and is the culmination of 30 years of research.

Plomin's research has always had a focus on the importance of our genetic make-up in shaping who we are, and the interrelation between DNA and the environment. His other influential books include _G is for Genes: The Impact of Genetics on Education and Achievement _(2013) and Behavioral Genetics (2000).

Notable accolades include lifetime achievement awards from the American Psychological Association, the Behavior Genetics Association, and the Society for Research in Child Development. He is also past president of the Behavior Genetics Association, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a member of the British Academy.

Plomin was also ranked as the 71st most cited psychologist of the 20th century by Review of General Psychology, and among the 100 most eminent psychologists in the history of science by the same publication.
