Alex Stitt is a respected genderqueer counselor, an acclaimed and popular author, and a pioneering and innovative voice in the field of genderqueer theory. Stitt is a licensed mental health counselor specializing in helping people understand queer identity in the context of the self, social expectations, sex and sexuality.

Stitt is the author of the groundbreaking textbook ACT for Gender Identity: The Comprehensive Guide, an important manual for mental health practitioners seeking to apply mindfulness-based practices to transgender and nonbinary-related issues effectively.
