Dr F. Michler Bishop is the director of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services at The Albert Ellis Institute in New York. He is the co-founder of the SMART Recovery program and an expert in addiction and impulse control problems. Dr Bishop has worked at The Albert Ellis Institute for over 20 years. Among his many achievements, Dr Bishop helped develop SMART Recovery’s four-point program and therapy guidelines based on cognitive-behavioral methods and non-confrontational motivational enhancement.
