profile

Raymond DiGiuseppe’s distinguished career has spanned nearly five decades. He is Director of Professional Education at the Albert Ellis Institute (AEI) as well as Professor and Chair of the Psychology Department at St John’s University.

With a key focus on clinical aspects of anger, Professor DiGiuseppe’s clinical and research work has included the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of anger problems. A postdoctoral fellowship with Albert Ellis led him to becoming an international expert in REBT (Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy), working to develop the theory, practice and evidence base.

One indication of his range of clinical and research experience is his Fellow status with the American Psychological Association in not one but four divisions: Psychotherapy, Clinical, School, and Family Psychology.

Professor DiGiuseppe has published more than 120 scientific papers and book chapters and is a co-editor of the Journal of Rational-Emotive and Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. He has co-authored two psychological tests: The Anger Disorders Scale for adults, and the Anger Regulation and Expression Scale, for children and adolescents.

A popular conference speaker, Professor DiGiuseppe pioneered popular presentation formats, such as the Master Clinician Series and World Rounds.
