Dr Donn Posner is Founder and President of Sleepwell Consultants, an organization dedicated to the dissemination of Behavioral Sleep Medicine (BSM), including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), the preferred treatment for insomnia.

Sleepwell Consultants offers workshops and direct consulting to clinicians as part of their mission to ensure that health professionals recognize the importance of assessing and treating sleep disorders and how to do it well. Clients include the Navy Seal Foundation and the US Department of Defense.

In addition to his work at Sleepwell Consultants, Dr Posner is Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Stanford University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences.

He is also Consulting Psychologist for Palo Alto Veterans Affairs and was a consultant for the Veteran’s Administration roll-out of CBT-I across the United States of America.

Previously, Dr Posner spent 25 years as Director of Behavioural Sleep Medicine for Lifespan Hospitals and was Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University.

He is a Diplomate and Founding Member of the Society of Behavioural Sleep Medicine as well as one of the first certified behavioral sleep medicine specialists recognized by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
