Dr Julian Ford is a board-certified clinical psychologist and an internationally recognized expert on trauma and stress in adults and children. He is a Professor of Psychiatry and Law at Connecticut University School of Medicine, where he is also Director of the Center for Trauma Recovery and Juvenile Justice and the Center for the Treatment of Developmental Trauma Disorders.

Dr Ford is the author or editor of 10 books, and he has published more than 250 journal articles or book chapters. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Trauma and Dissociation and the European Journal of Psychotraumatology.

Dr Ford has served as President of the International Society For Traumatic Stress Studies and is Chair of the American Psychological Association Division of Trauma Psychology Presidential Task Force on Child Trauma.

Among Dr Ford’s most important projects are the development of Trauma Affect Regulation: Guide for Education & Therapy (TARGET), a model for youth and adults with complex PTSD.
