Dr Scott Temple is a highly respected clinical psychologist at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics, a researcher and an author. His clinical interests have drawn him to various avenues of psychological inquiry over the years, but he has special knowledge of the application of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for cancer patients.

Dr Temple is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at Carver College of Medicine, University of Iowa. He co-developed a DBT program for adolescent inpatients, and now primarily works with medically ill adults and adolescents, including those facing end-of-life.

Having spent more than 30 years studying CBT, Dr Temple is widely published in peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of the books Brief Cognitive Behavior Therapy For Cancer Patients and Brief Therapy for Adolescent Depression.

Dr Temple is a founding fellow and certified CBT trainer and consultant with the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. He is regularly involved with the training of clinicians across the United States and received his own training at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Research.
