Professor Michael Inzlicht is an influential and award-winning psychologist who specializes in the nature of self-control, motivation and effort. He is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto, where he also recently completed his tenure as Research Excellence Faculty Scholar.

A leading figure in his field, Professor Inzlicht’s research sits between the boundaries of social psychology, cognitive science and neuroscience. He is also an authority on religion, academic performance and prejudice.

Professor Inzlicht is the author of two books: Stereotype Threat and Social Neuroscience, while he has also published hundreds of peer-reviewed journal articles. He is an Associate Editor of the journal, Psychological Science, and a co-host host on the Two Psychologists Four Beers podcast.

Professor Inzlicht’s work has been featured in many mainstream media outlets, such as The New York Times, The Globe and Mail_, the BBC_, Time, and numerous others. His awards include the SPSP Student Publication Prize and the Wegner Theoretical Innovation Prize. As well as his role within the Department of Psychology at Unversity of Toronto, he is Professor at the Rotman School of Management at the same institution.
