Dr Randy Paterson is a well-known psychologist and an acclaimed author. He has special expertise in a number of areas, including mood disorders, depression, assertiveness and confidence. Dr Paterson is Clinic Director at Changeways Clinics in Vancouver, where he conducts individual therapy practice. His public speaking has taken him around the world and he is involved with the training of mental health clinicians.

As an author, Dr Paterson has published a number of popular books, including How to be Miserable: 40 Strategies You Already Use, The Assertiveness Workbook, and most recently, How to be Miserable in Your Twenties.

Dr Paterson hosts a weekly video blog via YouTube, called How to be Miserable, and he is frequently consulted by mainstream media, including The New York Times, CBC Radio, Cosmopolitan, The Globe and Mail, and The Vancouver Sun.

Dr Paterson is widely published in academic literature on subjects including psychological stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social phobia, depression, attachment theory and more.
