Dr Andrew Wake is a child and adolescent psychiatrist and former university lecturer at Melbourne and Monash Universities, Australia. He has current roles at Neami National youth outreach service and in private practice in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr Wake is the author of the highly praised parenting book, The ‘Good Enough’ Parent: How to Provide For Your Child's Social and Emotional Development. Popular in countries worldwide, Dr Wake’s book is a guide to understanding our children and helping them mature into levelheaded and happy adults capable of working problems out for themselves.

Dr Wake regularly speaks at schools, child protection units and teacher seminars. He talks with parents and carers on helping children navigate emotions of fear and anger through consultancy for professional organizations and parent groups around Australia.

Along with managing strong emotions and tricky relationships, Dr Wake specializes in child development, adolescent sexuality, the effects of childhood trauma, fostering healthy relationships, and offering guidance on ‘good enough’ friendships.
