Dr Norman E. Rosenthal has a global reputation as an innovative and passionate psychiatrist, a best-selling author and an in-demand speaker. One of his main fields of recent research has been poetry for healing and improving mental health. He is also the first person to identify Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) and develop light therapy as treatment.

Dr Rosenthal is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown Medical School and works in private practice in Bethesda, Maryland. His most recent book is the popular Poetry Rx: How 50 Inspiring Poems Can Heal and Bring Joy To Your Life. Other books include Winter Blues Survival Guide: A Workbook for Overcoming SAD.

Dr Rosenthal has written more than 200 scholarly articles. His research has been featured by popular media outlets such as Good Morning America, The Today Show, The New York Times, NPR, The Washington Post and many more. Dr Rosenthal is also a popular motivational speaker and a personal and professional coach.
