Matthew Traube is an adult and child licensed therapist. A key focus of his practice is on the interrelationship between psychology and skin disorders – also known as psychodermatology.

Traube's work relies on a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and skin-focused psychotherapy to address skin disorders such as acne, eczema, hives, skin picking and psoriasis. He was trained by a pioneer of psychodermatology, Dr Ted Grossbart.

Traube specializes in body-focused repetitive behaviors such as hair pulling and skin picking as well as more general disorders such as depression, anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive behavior and more.

Traube has been consulted as an expert by a number of major media outlets, such as The New York Times, New York Magazine, The Cut, Glamour, Marie Claire, and Cosmopolitan. Along with specializing in skin conditions, he is a licensed marriage and family therapist.
