Professor Beatrice de Gelder is a professor in the Department of Cognitive Neuroscience and leader of the Brain and Emotion Laboratory at Maastricht University. Her research focuses on the interrelationship between the brain, emotions and the body. Professor de Gelder's particular interests include non-conscious recognition, emotional expression, face recognition, multisensory perception and the interaction between auditory and visual processes. She has authored hundreds of articles, chapters and the acclaimed book, Emotions and the Body.
