Dr Richard Douglas Fields is a neuroscientist of global renown and expert on brain development. His research investigates neuron-glia interactions and the cellular mechanisms of neuroplasticity and memory. He is currently Chief of the Nervous System Development and Plasticity Section at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland.
Author of over 150 studies in scientific journals Dr Fields has also written numerous authoritative books and magazine articles concerning his vital contributions to the field of neuroscience. Dr Fields has written two books specifically for a general audience: The Other Brain, and Why We Snap.
