Professor Geoffrey Beattie is a psychologist, author and broadcaster whose work has made a major impact on culture and society in both his native UK and beyond. His work and research have addressed many areas of psychology, with particular focus on topics including language and communication, body language, the psychology of climate change, semiotics, the psychology of sport, cognitive bias and more.

Professor Beattie is a Professor of Psychology at Edge Hill University and has been a Visiting Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Professor Beattie has published 25 books, his latest being Trophy Hunting: A Psychological Perspective. He has won several prestigious awards during his career, including the Spearman Medal from the British Psychological Society, and the Mouton d'Or from Semiotica, the official journal of the International Association for Semiotic Studies.

Professor Beattie is a regular face in mainstream media all over the world. He was the resident psychologist for the UK version of Big Brother, and has presented a number of television series, including Life’s Too Short (BBC1), Family SOS (BBC1), _The Farm of Fussy Eaters _(UKTV) and Dump Your Mates in Four Days (Channel 4).
