Dr Brenda K. Wiederhold is Chairman at the Interactive Media Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing mental health treatment technologies. She is also Co-Founder and President of the Virtual Reality Medical Center and Co-Chair of the Pain and Palliative Care Committee at Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla.

Dr Wiederhold is a Visiting Professor at the Catholic University in Milan. She is an author of note and the Editor-in-Chief of CyberPsychology, Behavior and Social Networking Journal.

Dr Wiederhold has over twenty-five years of experience using Virtual Reality (VR) techniques in clinical therapy. She completed the first clinical trial to provide VR therapy for war veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Dr Wiederhold co-developed the COVID Feel Good protocol, selected as the Best National Digital Solution at the World Summit Awards in 2020. In 2005 she was honored with the Satava Award, the first time that the award was presented for work in the mental health care field.
