Dr Jonathan Shedler is a clinical professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco. He is an expert in psychodynamic psychotherapy, personality styles and disorders. Dr Shedler is best known for his acclaimed 2010 article, The Efficacy of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, establishing psychoanalytic therapy as an evidence-based treatment. He co-wrote the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual and created the Shedler-Western Assessment Procedure for personality diagnosis and clinical case formulation.
