Professor Colleen Carney is both Associate Professor and Director of the Sleep and Depression Laboratory at Ryerson University. Her prime research focus is on the treatment of insomnia, particularly for those who have mental health conditions.

In a previous role at Duke University Medical Center, where she remains an Adjunct Faculty member, she held the prestigious National Sleep Foundation Pickwick Fellowship.

Professor Carney is currently the President of the Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) Behavioral Sleep Medicine Special Interest Group.

She is widely published both with scientific papers and books. She is a recognized thought leader, a sought after workshop leader, and is regularly featured in mainstream media.

Professor Carney’s work has led to the development of a free sleep app for teens.
