Dr Rachel Menzies is a clinical psychologist, researcher and educator. She is known for her insightful and original research into the fear of death, its relationship with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and how Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) can be used as treatment. She works in private practice in Sydney and is a researcher at the University of Sydney, where she also lectures.

Dr Menzies has delivered workshops on death anxiety across Australia. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed academic titles and has contributed to mainstream media outlets such as The Conversation, The Guardian and The Sydney Morning Herald. Dr Menzies is the co-editor of the book Curing the Dread of Death: Theory, Research and Practice and co-author of the book Tales From the Valley of Death: Reflections From Psychotherapy on the Fear of Death.

Dr Menzies is a winner of the Dick Thompson Thesis Prize from the University of Sydney for her work on death anxiety and OCD. In 2016 she was included in The Conversation Yearbook 2016, a collection of works by the top one percent of Australian academics and thinkers.
