Dr Virgil Zeigler-Hill is a Professor of Psychology and Director of Graduate Training at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He is a widely respected psychologist whose expertise and research focus on aspects of social personality, including disorders such as narcissism, psychopathy and spitefulness. Other areas of specialization include self-esteem, interpersonal relationships and cognitive representations of the self.

Dr Zeigler-Hill is the editor of several influential books, including Evolutionary Perspectives on Death, The Sage Handbook of Personality and Individual Differences and The Dark Side of Personality. He has also written many peer-reviewed articles for psychology journals such as Self and Identity and the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. He has served in an editorial capacity for several journals.

Dr Zeigler-Hill has been the recipient of a number of awards and funding allocations, including a Faculty Research Fellowship and Outstanding Graduate Mentor Award from Oakland University.
