Professor Michael Pluess is an expert on how experiences shape the course of psychological development across life. He is a Professor of Developmental Psychology at Queen Mary University of London.

Much of Professor Pluess’ research focuses on individual differences in the capacity for Environmental Sensitivity, the notion that some people are more affected than other people by negative as well as positive experiences. In addition, he is specifically interested in positive aspects of development, including the design and empirical evaluation of intervention programs for mental health and well-being.

Professor Pluess’ research has been widely published in a number of prestigious academic journals, and his work has been featured by mainstream publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Los Angeles Times and Newsweek.
